Have you ever tried to pick up a seashell underwater? Why do you think that the seashell appeared closer to the surface of the water than it really was? Write one paragraph about this in your notebook or you can type it so that Ms. Gartu will be happy.

Also, remember when Ms. Gartu talked to us about this essay contest? All you have to do is type up an essay that is 700 to 1000 words that is based on a science theme that you yourself pick. If you win, you get a $5000 grant and a trip to Disney World. It would be in your best interest to enter.
