Causes of the Spanish-American War:

The Spanish-American war started due to rising tensions between the Spanish and the U.S. Yellow journalism fed lies and exaggerations as to what the Spanish did to the public, and made the public angry. Many also supported the Cuban rebels, remembering a time where they too were rebels attacking an unjust government. There were other reasons too - imperialistic ones. America wanted land, and they also wanted to be the "top dog" in their hemisphere, and with Spain and her colonies in the Northern Hemisphere... well, it pissed them off. They also knew that if the colonies were freed, they would need help to start - and if America started early, helping them while they were still new, it would allow them to have economic and political influence over them in the future.

Definition of Isolationism:

Policy of not getting involved in the affairs of other countries (Pretty smart idea, if you ask me - which of course, you didn't).

Effects of the Spanish-American War:

The Spanish-American war led to the downfall of Spain and the freedom of her colonies. However, it also had negative impacts, such as sparking the war between the Philippines and America (this led to the Philippines becoming a colony of the U.S).

Reasons for Imperialism:

To gain land/power, money, and to have places around the world where you can keep your soldiers during war.

Open Door Policy:

This happened in China - it happened when China gave parts of it's land to different countries in Europe. When America became strong, it wanted some land too - but there was none left. Annoyed, they forced the Chinese to have a policy that guaranteed equal trading rights for all nations - which is the Open Door Policy.

Reasons for the Panama Canal Construction (Why did they build it?):

It was a shortcut through the Atlantic to the Pacific. It allowed ships to go through the canal, instead of going around South America, which is a pain in the ass.

Math

Castlelearning due Sunday (She extended it).

Science

Unsure about this, but I'd say you have to finish the Handout and the Graph. I didn't hear him say it, I just assumed it, since he usually makes us do it.

ELA

Read 1 Hour, Respond and Write (Haha, not - well, at least for me... you overachievers can do whatever you want).
