1a) President Hoover said that the GD would be over in 60 days and believed that a joke every 10 days would lighten the mood. He gave grants to companies and encouraged companies to hire. Didn't really do much else...
2a) Dust Bowl.
4a) President Roosevelt discussed issues and his solutions to them in simple, easy words so he could discuss ideas with the general public and encourage them.
5a) The Harlem Renaissance was when blacks had their time - their talents were showcased and revealed to the world. Their music (jazz), art and et cetera. It took place in Harlem, New York.
6a) Fair Labor Act, Social Security Act, Unemployment Benefit.
7a) The GD was caused by a number of serious weaknesses in the economy. Americans spent more than they had, and got loans from the banks but couldn't pay the banks back.
8a) The GD ended when FDR thought of a plan - he gave money to the people. When people had money, they wanted to spend. Companies got money and then they wanted to hire, which in turn gave more money to the people.
