Historical Context: The movement for African Americans' equality gained strength in the 1950's. Despite violent opposition the struggle continued. Congress responded by passing laws against the discrimination.

Your essay must:

Identify barriers to equality faced by African Americans in the South

Explain the methods used by African Americans to win their civil rights.

We have a test on Wednesday that will be on the three groups of verbs (ar, er, ir). Not sure whether past tenses will be included, but study them just in case.
